Papers are invited on MAJOR African writers of the 20th Century for inclusion in a seminal book of the same title to be published by Africa World Press. Contributors are to choose from the following two lists of writers: A and B. Papers for List A should be twenty pages or more, quarto, double-spaced. Papers for List B should be between fifteen and twenty pages, quarto, double-spaced.
The proposed paper should provide a comprehensive overview of the life and works of the author, an indepth discussion of significant works covering themes, critical reception, and impact; a clear statement of the legacies and outstanding contributions of the author to the growth and development of African Literature in the 20th Century. A bibliography of primary and secondary sources should be provided at the end of the paper. Contributors should send their paper topics immediately to avoid duplication of entries. Finished papers (and Microsoft Word disk) should be sent on or before November 30, 2000 to Ernest N. Emenyonu at the address listed below.
