This one-day conference, hosted by the Centre for Western Australian History (UWA) and the Fremantle Prison, marks the 150th anniversary of the arrival of convicts in Western Australia. Bringing together historians, genealogists, researchers and the interested public, the conference will explore the historical and contemporary impact of the convict system on Western Australian society, its cultural heritage, and environment.
