1st Virtual Conference on Contemporary Spanish History - The Church and the Crisis of the Old Regime
We wish to inform you that the 1st Virtual Conference on Contemporary Spanish History will be held between July 1 and October 13, 2000. This year’s theme will be “The Church and the Crisis of the Old Regime.” The conference is the result of the efforts of a small group of social, political, economic and cultural and literary historians. Its academic sponsors are the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia in Spain, the Université de Provence in France and East Carolina University in the United States. Its corporate sponsors include Microsoft, British Telecom, Caja de Madrid, and Rediris. His Majesty, King Juan Carlos I will preside as honorary conference Chair.
This 1st Virtual Conference on Contemporary Spanish History will be offered over the internet because we are conscious of the immense possibilities that digital technology opens; especially unlimited possibilities for debate and flexibility in the transmission of texts. The sponsoring institutions are also interested in the introduction of new information and communication technology in our disciplines. For more complete information, including a registration form, please visit the conference web site: http://www.cvhce.uned.es. Should you need further assistance please send your inquiries to: email@example.com.
Please forward this message to all colleagues who might be interested. If you are involved in a journal we would appreciate it if you could place an announcement regarding the conference in an appropriate section.
