The Mediterranean Programme of the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute (Florence, Italy) invites scholars to submit proposals for workshops to be held at the Second Mediterranean Social and Political Research Meeting, March 21 – 25, 2001.

The Mediterranean Programme encourages workshops to be comparative and multi-disciplinary. In terms of disciplines, the Mediterranean Programme includes Sociology, Political Science (incl. Political Economy), International Relations, Economics, Anthropology, History, Law and Demography.
Topics could relate to the following fields of inquiry:
Political regime analyses
Islam and politics (and economics)
Business and politics
Images and discourses
Applications should include the following items:
Completed application form
Abstract of the proposed workshop (250 words in English)
Description of the proposed workshop (4 - 6 double-spaced pages, including references, in English or French)
Abstract of the paper of each workshop director (250 words in English)
