The University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, through the Office of
International Programs and Studies and the Area Studies Centers for Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, Russia and Eastern Europe, East Asia and the Pacific, and the Program for South Asia and Middle East, announces a comparative and cross-disciplinary Spring Symposium for April 14-15, 2000, on the theme of Gender and Globalization. All sessions will be held at the Levis Faculty Center, and are open to the public.
The five panel themes are:
- Theory, Intersections of Globalization and Gender;
- Environment and Reproduction;
- Economy and Society;
- Culture and Media;
- Political Empowerment and Social Movements.
