The early republic issue of the OAH Magazine of History offers
innovative suggestions for teaching the years between 1780 and
1830. Edited by Paul A. Gilje, author of Rioting in America, the
magazine includes articles by Gary B. Nash, Patricia Cline Cohen,
and John Lauritz Larson. Specific lesson plans focus on working
women, African Americans, home life, politics, and the Thomas
Jefferson/Sally Hemings controvery. The magazine also provides
bibliographies of additional educational material and web resources
