National History Day and the White House Historical Association are sponsoring a one-week institute for teachers July 8-15, 2000. This institute will be built on the very successful NHD model from 1999 and will examine the role and impact of the American Presidency. The objectives of the program are two-fold: to provide teachers with the latest in historical scholarship to bring them up to speed on the literature; and to provide teachers with practical applications for the classroom, particularly instruction regarding the importance and use of primary sources. For more information visit the NHD web site at http://NationalHistoryDay.org or call 301-314-9739 for a brochure.
