High School History Teachers - Online Class Collaboration for Presidential Primary Season
Teachers, here's a way to connect election season and the issues your students care about to what you're teaching this school year in social studies, journalism, language arts, the arts or social sciences. SchoolCity.com, a website for teachers, students and parents, is offering:
* THE DEMOCRACY PROJECT - a free, four week online collaborative course led by two nationally recognized soc studies teachers and tied to the Presidential Primary season. Start date is Feb. 1st - teachers may participate in part or all four weeks - course is open to middle and high school teachers who wish to trade lessons, conduct online forums and publish student work. These cross-classroom activities culminate in a live student/teacher led interview with US presidential candidate(s) from the March 3-7th Pre-California Primary Youth Vote 2000 Conference at UCLA.
