"Bridgeport Working: Voices from the 20th Century" is an interactive website exhibition produced by the staff of the Historical Collections, Bridgeport Public Library. The exhibit is a decade by decade history of 20th century labor in the City of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Important labor events in the city's history are highlighted on a time-line, including local and national events. A gallery of photographs of people and places in Bridgeport over the last century is featured.
The exhibit documents the working lives of Bridgeport residents with oral histories of thirty people who lived and worked in Bridgeport during the 20th century. These oral histories cover a wide range of occupations; from travel agent to truck driver; factory workers to executives. A unique feature of the website are the actual audio clips of people who were interviewed along with photographs and transcripts of the oral histories.
A listing and description of companies that were located in Bridgeport, Connecticut are also included.
