I am attempting to assemble a panel on the production of social science knowledge and the formation of agendas for social reform/policy in the United States during the 20th century for the American Historical Association Conference in Boston in January 2001. (One possible approach to this topic would be an examination of the sponsorship of social science projects by the foundations.) I am hoping to find several scholars interested in participating in such a panel, either as presenters or as the chair or commentator. If you are interested in participating in such a panel, please contact me via e-mail a.s.a.p. It is necessary to act quickly as the deadline for panel submissions is 15 Feb. 2000.
