This scholarly and cultural symposium (March 30-April 1, 2000) will honor the works of John Edgar Wideman and explore the various American and transcontinental responses to his work, as well as recognize CALLALOO's recent special issue on this extraordinary American writer. John Edgar Wideman will close the symposium with a public reading from his own works. Come and join us for a weekend of literary and cultural exchange.
Speakers include: Jacqueline Berben-Masi, Stephen Casmier, James Coleman, Brent Edwards, Percival Everett, Yves-Charles Grandjeat, Fritz Gysin, Claude Julien, Harryette Mullen, Jean-Pierre Richard, and Bonnie TuSmith.
