The Department of History and the History graduate students at Carnegie
Mellon University proudly announce the first annual Eugene D. Levy Memorial History Graduate Student Conference to be held Friday and Saturday, April 14 and 15, 2000 on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Organized by and for graduate students in History, the conference will provide a relaxed forum for graduate students to present their research and share their ideas with colleagues from other universities. First time presenters are encouraged. There will be a $100 prize awarded for the best paper submitted to the conference.
We especially invite paper topics revolving around:
History of Science and Technology
Business and Society
American Women's History
Working Class Politics
American Labor History
Proposals should be limited to one page, and should be accompanied by a
brief vita. Panels will be organized into sessions of three papers and
talks will be 15-20 minutes long. Please send your abstract, vita, and a cover page including your mailing and email addresses. Panel proposals will also be considered.
The deadline for proposals is February 1, 2000. Accepted proposals will be notified no later than February 15. The deadline for papers is April 1, 2000.
