Arcadia Publishing is the nation's largest publisher of books on local and regional history. Our acclaimed "Images of America" series contains almost 1000 volumes on cities, towns, and counties across the nation. We are currently expanding our publishing to include books on African-American history, sports history, college history, Civil War history amongst other areas, and welcome submissions for new books. Please contact me directly or see our website for further information.
We have recently become aware of a market for our books among the academic community, as it seems that they are valuable teaching tools. This is not a group that we have marketed to in the past as we had considered our books to have a local appeal only. However, we have been approached by individuals eager to use our books which they claim are very accessible and contain excellent primary source material (each contains about 200 vintage photographs) for teaching. I would be very grateful for any ideas on how we might approach the marketing of these titles to academics in high schools and colleges.
