Events include a performance by John McCutcheon, folk musician and award-winning children's song writer; a program of folk music & drama by the Ferrum Jack Tale Players; a visit to Hollins University's historic campus & new library; and a banquet.
The conference will be held at the Hotel Roanoke. Built in 1882, it has recently been renovated, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It is within walking distance of the historic Farmer's Market area and the Center in the Square museum/theatre complex. The Roanoke Valley, surrounded by the beautiful Appalachian Mountains, is one of the largest metropolitan areas along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway.
