The objective of the conference on Garvey, Malcolm, Nkrumah and the New Millennium is to facilitate scholarly discussions of the Pan-Africanist visions of Garvey, Malcolm and Nkrumah. In keeping with the objectives and sims, the organizers of the conference are calling for papers. Interested presenters must submit a 200 word abstract no later than February 15, 2000. Please include with your submission a cover sheet providing your name, institutional affiliation, address, phone number, and email. Submissions may be mailed, faxed, or E-mailed to be received in the Department of Africana Studies on or before February 15, 2000. Papers will be accepted on these and other topics:
- Continental Leadership and Management
- Strengthening of Continental Africa's Relationship with Africans in the Diaspora
- Institutional Building for Foreign, Economic, Military and Security Policies
- Creation of an African Continental Currency
- Fixing the Core/Periphery Relatinships
CONFERENCE SPEAKERS INCLUDE: Marcus Garvey, Jr., Dr. Hadjor Kofi, UC Santa Barbara; Dr. Clinton Hutton, University of the West Indies; Dr. Tony Martin, Wellesley College and Dr. James Turner, Cornell University.
