Teaching About Wars - Spring Teacher Workshop

We are planning a spring teacher workshop on the topic of teaching wars. Anyone with ideas, curriculum, essays, publications on the topic, we would appreciate your help. Specifically, we deal with the War of 1812, but the workshop will cover generally "how to teach wars in the classroom." Thanks for your help.
