Wolf Lepenies is Rector of the Institute for Advanced Study in Berlin and Professor of Sociology at the Free University of Berlin. He is a Foreign Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He has written, and lectures widely, on a range of subjects including the history and the sociology of the sciences, literary criticism, and European intellectual life. His many books include Between Literature and Science: The Rise of Sociology and Melancholy and Society.
The Margaret Liebman Berger Forum is located on the second floor of the Humanities and Social Sciences Library at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street. This is a free public program of The New York Pubilc Library. Seating is limited. To register, please call (212) 930-0084.
