The Royal College of Nursing History of Nursing Society
Millennium Conference is a forum for sharing historical
research in nursing.
The conference will include the launch of the United Kingdom
Centre for the History of Nursing.
The Royal College of Nursing History of Nursing Society
welcomes papers on topics related to the history of nursing,
midwifery and nursing in public health; nursing knowledge and
education; nursing practice and institutions; and the changing
roles of nurse and patient; from all eras and regions of the world.
The programme committee welcomes session proposals. All
papers must represent original work not already published or in
Press.
The International History of Nursing Journal is the official journal
ofthe RCN History of Nursing Society and the Society
encourages speakers to make their manuscripts available for
consideration by the Journal.
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS:
Presentations will be selected on the basis of merit through blind
review. Please submit six copies of your abstract. One copy of
the abstract must state complete title, author, address,
institutional affiliation, phone number/Email address. Five copies
should have the title but no author or identifying information. This
will facilitate the blind review.
Abstracts should include:
identification of study's purpose, rationale
and significance of the study, description of method,
identification of primary and secondary sources, the findings
and conclusions.
Abstract preparation :
margins must be one and a half inches on the
left and one inch on the right, top, and bottom.
Put title in upper case, and single space body using twelve point
Times New Roman font only. Use only one side of one page. Accepted abstracts will be reproduced in the conference programme.
Abstracts which do not conform to the guidelines
will not be accepted.
Please follow the guidelines carefully.
Submission date :
abstracts must arrive on or before 15th January 2000.
