PHDJOBS-L for Graduate Students and PhDs in the Humanities
Over 400 individuals -- from across the United States, Canada, UK, Europe, and Australia -- have subscribed to PHDJOBS-L since its launch on Labor Day. Please would you tell friends and colleagues about the list so we can work together to establish a great resource for networking humanities and social science graduate students and PhDs.
Introducing PHDJOBS-L at Emory University
PHDJOBS-L is a resource for graduate students and PhDs in
the humanities and social sciences who share an interest in
exploring temporary and/or permanent employment opportunities
beyond academe. It is an open and informal listserv, to which
anyone can post job ads and useful information about job-
hunting, resume-writing, interviewing, etc.
The creators of PHDJOBS-L hope that dialogue on the list will
complement more formal, national and international discussions on career options for humanities and social science PhDs. Recently, a number of
institutions -- including The Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship
Foundation (www.woodrow.org), UCSB (http://humanitas.ucsb.edu/
depts/english/altcareers/), and UCLA (https://secure.career.ucla.edu/
public/pathwaysAGENDA.htm) -- have sponsored these discussions
and emphasized their value to all who study the humanities
and social sciences.
