This special issue of the "Women's History Review" (published in Great
Britain) will consist of around six articles of approximately 8,000
words each on some aspect of women and the performing arts.
Of particular interest are articles with the following themes:
- The relationship between women in the performance arts and political
culture and/or foreign policy
- How the work of women in the performing arts reflects or contradicts
traditional U.S. cultural values
- Biographical studies of a particular woman and how she relates to the
above two themes
Very welcome are articles which do the following:
- Use a narrative approach to writing history
- Experiment with the way history is presented
- Discuss the historian's process of investigating and writing the
material
Deadline for submission of articles: February 1, 2000
