Journal of Modern Literature in Chinese (JMLC) is published twice yearly by the
Centre for Literature and Translation, Lingnan University. The views expressed by the authors do not necessarily reflect those of the publishers.
This journal provides a forum for discussing issues related to any aspect of modern or contemporary literature in Chinese. It aims at contributing to the scholarly discourse on Chinese literature written in and outside of Mainland
China. In publishing articles in both Chinese and English, it will be the only bilingual refereed journal in the field. It is hoped that, by placing Chinese and Western scholarship "back-to-back," the journal will become a channel for
fruitful interchange and dialogue among scholars in Asia, Europe, and America.
All the articles submitted will be subject to a blind review process. The opinions of two scholars in the relevant subject area are solicited before a publication decision is made. Such peer-review ensures that only articles of the
highest quality will appear in the journal.
Besides the usual fare of academic papers, the journal will feature Book Reviews and Review Articles. Literary translations from Chinese to English as well as translations of seminal works in the field will be accepted only where
they are seen to be relevant to critical inquiry.
We welcome books and journals in related disciplines for review. Please send all review or complimentary copies to the Editorial Office. We also welcome commerical advertisement in the discipline of modern literature in Chinese.
