Red Files Website Showcases Russian Archives Online
Abamedia, Series Producer of the PBS RED FILES series, is proud to announce the launching of its RED FILES Website at www.pbs.org.
The site showcases the Archive Media Project's Russian Archives Online (RAO): an online collection of Russian and Soviet-related archives and other sources of film footage, photographs, illustrations, and audio, along with supporting documents and text.
RED FILES, airing on PBS Mondays, September 27 - October 18, 9 p.m. (check local listings), exposes the Soviet view of recent history through interviews with key participants, never-before-seen archival film, and declassified dossiers. The four-part series looks at Americans who willingly provided atomic secrets to the KGB in what was the greatest intelligence coup of all time; the Soviet sports machine and the toll it took on its young athletes; the secret mastermind behind the Soviet space program, Sergei Pavlovich Korolev, and how shockingly close the Russians came to winning the Space Race; and the propaganda wars from the Bolshevik Revolution to the end of the Cold War.
