MONTEREY INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL STUDIES offers elementary, intermediate, and in some languages, advanced language courses in a nine-week Summer Intensive Language Program for Chinese, Japanese and Russian, June 20-August 23, 2000. Eight-week programs in Arabic, French, German, Italian, Korean and Spanish are offered June 27-August 23, 2000. In the Winter Intensive Language Program (Jan 3-21, 2000) courses are offered in Chinese, French, German, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, Russian and Vietnamese. English as a Second Language and English for Academic Preparation are offered in summer, fall and spring schedules. Monterey, California is a beautiful venue for language study in a supportive small-class environment. Instruction is supplemented with language assistants and activities for practice outside of the classroom.
