JSRCNT is dedicated to the electronic publication of articles that either make use of rhetorical critical methods not typically applied to the texts of early Christianity or analyze the rhetorical basis of studies of these texts no matter what methods have been used in their analysis. The editors encourage submissions that further the application of non-traditional rhetorical ananlyses of New Testament texts including, but not limited to, feminist criticism, social movements approaches, socio-linguistics, fantasy theme, dramatist pentad, argumentation, critical rhetorics, and socio-rhetorical critical approaches. Meta-disciplinary critiques, postmodern approaches, and analyses of the rhetoric of biblical-critical inquiry also encouraged.
This site represents the first in a series of developments that will lead to the creation of an international Center for the Study of Rhetorical Criticism and the Scriptures. Plans for the Center will include on-line discussion forums, links to bibliographies, conference announcements and other vehicles for the promotion of alternative rhetorical approaches to the Hebrew Bible and New Testament.
