Who Are We?
SAPA is the Student Assistance Professionals Association of Georgia, Incorporated. It was incorporated as a nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation in the fall of 1991 and is operated by a Board of Directors in conjunction with the Executive Director, Dr. Michael R. Carpenter. In 1997, SAPA became affiliated with the National Association of Student Assistance Professionals (NASAP). We are recognized for our high quality training available at workshops throughout the year and at our Annual Training.
Mission
Our mission is to provide prevention and intervention training, support and technical assistance to school, community, and agency leaders who will then assist children and their families in making drug-free and healthy choices for personal success.

To promote a consistent approach to student assistance programming
To develop a comprehensive continuum of care for all students
To distribute a newsletter
To provide leadership and training
To provide a state forum for sharing resources
To reduce drugs and violence and increase student achievement
