THEME: "New Worlds in Thought, Place, & Time"
The Southeastern American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies invites
proposals and full sessions on all aspects of the "long eighteenth
century." Papers and sessions may be on new aspects of the world as
conceptualized or envisioned by the eighteenth century or new light cast
on the eighteenth-century world by twentieth-century scholars. Topics
that cross disciplinary lines are especially encouraged; those less
directly related to the conference theme will also be considered.
SEASECS is a multi-discipinary group whose interests embrace such fields
as art and architecture (including gardens & landscape), econommics,
history, literature, music, philosophy, dance, politcs, religion, science,
theater, and material culture.
Graduate students may compete for cash prizes to be awarded for the best
papers presented. Contact program chair.
The conference hotel is The Mulberry, a renovated historic building in the
heart of old Savannah which offers full services with southern charm.
