Golden Lands, Working Hands to Premiere on N CA PBS Stations
Four northern California PBS stations will broadcast the premiere of the new feature length video documentary, Golden Lands, Working Hands during the Labor Day weekend. As noted historian and California State Librarian Kevin Starr puts it, "There is one thread running throughout California history-labor-that deserves wider understanding and broader support. Thanks to this first-rate video series, "Golden Lands, Working Hands, we can now enjoy the visual record, together with informed and empathetic commentary, regarding the epic of working men and working women and how they created the Golden State." Golden Lands is the only sesquicentennial event to focus on labor history and the contributions of workers to 150 years of California history.
