The Association of Black Anthropologists/American Anthropological Association is calling for papers on the History, Culture and Society in the African Diaspora. The conference, part of an International Cultural Encounter will convene July 23-30, 2000 in the Cuban cities of Havana, Matanzas and Santiago de Cuba. It will gather local and international scholars as well as community representatives.
Workshop and panel topics will explore such areas as: History, Folklore
Traditional Medicine, Language, Boilogicla Variation, Archaeology, Religion and National Culture, Music, Dance and the Visual Arts.
Speakers, panellists, and organized sessions are welcomed for all topics. Papers should be 15 minutes in length. Organized sessions are limited to 2 hours(including 1/2 hour for discusssion)
