The 6th Michigan Railroad History Conference will be Saturday, September 25, 1999 at the Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village, 20900 Oakwood Boulevard, Dearbor, Michigan concurrent with the two-day Railroad Days Festival.
The conference runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an optional Afterglow featuring hors douevres & cash bar from 6 to 8 p.m. The keynote speaker will be Kevin P. Keefe, editor of Trains magazine. Among the 10 presentations will be Graydon M. Meints - The Michigan Central and Michigan Southern Race to Chicago 1846-1853; William B. Davis - Ephraim Shay, Up, Up & Away, Dr. Thomas W. Brunk - The Cultural Imprint of Michigan Railroad Men and William C. Rands III - The Lima Locomotive Works' Super Power Concept.
Registration must be made by Monday, September 20, 1999. The registration fee is $29 for the conference and $10 for the Afterglow if postmarked before September 1, 1999 and $39 and $15 respectively thereafter.
