Friday 5 - Saturday 6 May 2000
University of Edinburgh
Co-sponsored by:
Centre of Canadian Studies
Department of Scottish History
Governance in Scotland Forum
On the first anniversary of the elections to inaugurate the Scottish
Parliament, the Centre of Canadian Studies of the University of
Edinburgh, in co-operation with the Department of Scottish History and
the Governance in Scotland Forum, reconsiders the comparison between
Scotland and Quebec.
The conference will consider social and cultural aspects as well as
the political dimension. Papers comparing Scotland and Quebec are
most welcome. We also hope to bring together scholars working on
similar topics in Scotland and Quebec.
Nous accueillons avec plaisir des projets de communication en
francais.
Expressions of interest in the 5-6 May conference should be made to
the Director of the Centre of Canadian Studies by 26 November 1999.
In addition to the conference on 5-6 May, the Centre will host the
25th Annual Conference of the British Association for Canadian Studies
on the theme of NATION-BUILDING on 11-14 April 2000.
