Overview:
The Online Conference features presentations from an
interdisciplinary program funded by the Austrian Ministry of
Research and Transportation. The main aim of the program is to
foster research for sustainable development of Austrian Cultural Landscapes. UNLIKE OTHER SUCH PROGRAMMES SOCIAL SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES PLAY AN IMPORTANT PART IN THIS PROGRAM.
The main aim of the online conference is to
provide a means for environmentally benign international
communication, we are dedicated to make the program and its results internationally known and foster discussion of important findings.
Features of the Online Conference:
Invited presentations of projects within the framework of
Research on Cultural Landscapes. Currently, the following research projects are included:
- "Virtual Project on Urbanisation"
- An unnoticed departure: The Future of mountain farmers and their Alpine
pastures
- Colonizing Landscapes: Indicators for sustainable land use
- The historical development of interactions between society and nature
- Infrastructure and its effects on the development of cultural landscapes
- CULTURAL LANDSCAPE 2020 - Future Images and Future Stories
- Interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary communication
We add new presentations bi-weekly, so the amount of information stays digestible.

- Island library: your favourite research books in a commentated
bibliography to share and exchange.
- Continuous coffee break: You are invited to browse or hang up
a work of art in the gallery, or submit other non-standard contributions.
