Peace History Society to Sponsor Conference
to be held 28-30 April 2000
Western Washington University, in Bellingham, Washington
The program committee of the second international conference sponsored by
the Peace History Society requests proposals that examine the politics of
peace movements around the world and in every time period. We especially
seek proposals that explore the "politics" of race, gender, class,
religion, and geography within movements for social justice as well as the
connections between those movements and other political structures.
We encourage proposals from scholars outside the United States.
Proposals for individual papers or complete panels are welcome. Sessions
should feature 2-3 papers and a moderator. All proposals for individual
papers or complete panels should include the following:
1) A summary of prospective papers, no longer than 250 words.
2) Names and addresses of each participant, accompanied by a brief
biographical sketch or vita.
Please send proposals and inquiries to Wendy Chmielewski and Michael Foley below.
The deadline for proposals is July 15, 1999.
