Winter 2000 Faculty Development Conference
February 17-18, 2000
DoubleTree Park Place Hotel, Minneapolis, MN
Deadline: September 27, 1999
The Collaboration for the Advancement of College Teaching & Learning invites
proposals from college and university faculty, staff, and students from campuses
within
The Collaboration region (Iowa, Mn, SD, ND, WI) and affiliated campuses, for
concurrent sessions on the conference theme. The Planning Committee especially
encourages proposals for sessions that will promote stimulating dialogue among
participants about difficult issues, that reflect diverse perspectives, and that
involve student presenters or co-presenters from across institutions.
INNOVATION--is an over-used word, perhaps, when it comes to complex
organizations. But innovation doesn't mean "whatever is new to you," especially
for organizations in the public, nonprofit sector, such as colleges and
universities. As Paul Light explains in *Sustaining Innovation, "public sector
innovation must be about doing something worthwhile." What does innovation mean
for faculty, administrators and students in a time of immense change and intense
public scrutiny? How is innovation sustained on campus?
The February 2000 conference will provide a forum to explore these questions.
For more information and guidelines for submitting proposals, see The
Collaboration's web site.
