The Cooper Seminar is a week-long seminar (July 11-16), held at the College at Oneonta in Otsego Country, devoted to the life and works of James Fenimore Cooper, creator of the famous Leatherstocking character and author of more than forty boks. The Conference begain in 1979.
This year's theme is: Father & Daughter: James Fenimore Cooper and Susan Fenimore Cooper. Texts include The Last of the Mohicans and Rural Hours.
Kenote speaker is Wayne Fraklin, Davis Professor of American Literature
at Northeastern University, currently preparing a new Cooper biography.
