The Peter Rollins-Michael Schoenecke Travel Grant Awards For Graduate Students

The Endowment for the Popular Culture Association and the American Culture Association announces the availability of to 40 travel grants @ $300 each to graduate students giving presentations for the national PCA/ACA conference being held in Boston, Massachusetts at the Boston Marriott Copley Place, April 4-7, 2007.

Applicants can be either M.A. or Ph.D. level students and should complete the application process detailed below and submit it electronically to (ashley.seewald@snc.edu) by no later than December 31, 2006. (Graduate students can apply for either the Rollins-Schoenecke Travel Grants or the Madonna Marsden International Travel Grants, but not for both.)

Proposals will be evaluated on: 1. quality of the paper’s thesis and scope, 2. extent to which the paper reflects and contributes to the study of Popular Culture Studies and/or American Culture Studies, and 3. the extent to which the paper reflects a student’s future professional goals. Decisions will be reached by the end of January, 2007 and the results communicated electronically. Successful applicants will find their award checks in their conference registration packets in Boston.

These grants are named after Professor Peter C. Rollins of Oklahoma State University and Professor Michael Schoenecke of Texas Tech University, who have for many years provided dedicated leadership to the organizations, national and regional, in terms of encouraging and supporting graduate student participation and hosting professional development sessions.
