Notice of Dues Increase for Members Resident Outside of North America

The University of Illinois Press is raising its foreign postage fees (outside of North America) from $10 to $25 per year effective 1 January 2009.  This is because the US Postal Service abolished 4th Class international mailing (formerly known as surface) rates in July 2007, and all journals sent overseas are now being mailed by air.  At present, the Society charges all foreign members and subscribers $10 extra for postage.  Beginning 1 January 2009, however, we will be forced to pass on the additional $15 cost to members and subscribers whose addresses are outside the United States, Canada, and Mexico.  They will then be charged $25 in addition to the membership or subscription fee.
